Textured layers and worn finishes contrast nicely against creamy white walls in this beautiful home in Sydney, Australia. It’s a mix I’ve always been drawn to…unique objects with patina and wear paired with clean minimalist interiors. The neutral color story using mostly white, black and brown presents a high contrast yet warm vibe. Designer Pamela Makin of Les Interieurs successfully mixes antiquities and vintage finds with tactile upholstered pieces in leather and linen to create a home that is modern and a bit organic. Tons of natural light floods the space inviting the outside in, while contemporary lighting elements complement the eclectic mix.
A Chinese drum serves as a side table for a pair of vintage leather chairs. Fortuny Pallucco floor lamp from Poliform.
An antique french oak dining table is surrounded by B&B Italia Crinoline dining chairs and rests under a Bocci pendant light.
A cut slate table sits next to an overstuffed B&B Italia Frank leather sofa. A giant 19th-century French mirror anchors the space.
A custom made wingback headboard in black linen serves as a sharp contrast to the white bedding and linen pillows.
An antique refectory table holds a giant metal wok and leather bound books in the passageway to the outside.
The backyard is the only space with color…terra cotta pavers, a bright blue tiled pool and orange cushions on a custom low slung daybed add to the vibrancy of the lush greenery.
