Ever since Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli were appointed designers of Valentino, I’ve paid attention. They brought a younger vibe and modern edge to the line and produced a number of hit accessories, particularly with the Rockstud collection. The last few years, I’ve purchased a few shoes from Valentino, and they’ve become some of my favorites. They are beautifully made and quite comfortable. Two new styles from the Pre-Fall 2014 collection caught my eye. The platform ankle-strap pump in suede (above) or feathered appliqué is an elegant addition to the line and sure to be a classic. On the more casual side of the spectrum, laced brogues, again in feathers (a theme throughout the collection) or polished leather, looked modern with everything from cropped pants to dresses and skirts. Far from some of the eye-catching, iconic looks from Valentino, the shoes are clean, modern and classic and on my radar for fall.

Oh yes, I agree! I have a pair of the Tango pumps, worn here,

and I love them. Great with BF jeans to take them in a much edgier direction too.

The Tango pumps are my wear with anything favorites! I’m eyeing the low cut-out boot for fall…in red.
