Although it’s only mid-August, I’m sensing the change ahead and the approaching end to summer. My friends with college aged kids are busy helping them get ready for their big send-off…some close by and others far. Facebook posts of pics at the airport with a school-year worth of luggage mean for many the transition is already here. I have another week with my older son before he heads out, and even though he’s not too far, the change in the house is still felt immensely with one less person. The pace around the house will pick up overnight after Labor Day when my younger son’s high school and sports schedule takes off. I want to embrace these last weeks and enjoy the moments that symbolize summer to me most…lazy mornings, walks to the beach, dinners outside, and relaxed time with family and friends.
