In case you missed it, this video shows what skin looks like with ultraviolet light and all the unseen sun damage. It’s pretty amazing to watch, especially the side by side images with and without the UV light. When a layer of sunscreen is applied, the UV light is blocked and turns black. It’s a pretty strong case for wearing sunscreen and applying it right…everyday.
JOSIE MARAN Argan Daily Moisturizer with an SPF of 47 had been my staple for awhile. The problem for me is reapplying. I’ve yet to figure out a way to reapply throughout the day as often as directed without having to redo my blush and concealer. I would love to hear how others get around this.
I also keep a lightweight cotton scarf in my car. I know it sounds excessive, but driving around, especially in the afternoon, the sun beats through the windshield and right on my chest. The car’s sun visor doesn’t help, so I have my scarf to toss on as a protective layer.
Even with my daily precautions, I still get sun. Everyday, I walk my dog wearing sunscreen, a hat and some kind of chest coverage. But I’m not as conscientious with a super high SPF on my arms and legs, so I have a light tan.
Coming from old-school sun bathing days with baby oil and aluminum foil, I can honestly say I like the look of a little tan. I wish I didn’t. So, I rely on self-tanners. I’ve tried just about all of them too over the years. I’ve found the St. Tropez line to be the most natural looking and with the least offensive scent. I can actually slather it on pretty quickly too without worrying about streaks.
Lastly, for my face, I add a few drops of CLARINS Booster to my nighttime face moisturizer for a natural glow. I like how subtle it is and that I can use my other products with it.
