This is often how my outfits start…a pair of jeans, a tee or tank and a slip-on loafer. It’s the base layer and it has to be comfortable and fit well. From there, anything goes…big oversized sweaters, scarves, capes, vests, coats…all depending on the weather and agenda. I have a couple FRAME DENIM jeans and there is something about the fabrication and stretch that make them incredibly comfortable, soft and even slimming. Their black jean is the truest, darkest black I’ve found.

That’s good … I like the Eileen Fisher silk tees for the top — what are other good
“perfect tees” ??

My favorite right now are T by Alexander Wang. Expensive, but incredibly soft and comfortable. I also like VINCE.

The Eileen Fisher are good too! Just picked up a charcoal long sleeve and its heavenly. I forgot to mention Majestic also. Those are excellent base pieces.

For smooth, silky cotton tees, I like Everlane. Price can’t be beat and the quality and styles are excellent. –CatbirdFarm

I just ordered a tee for my son and a sweater for myself from Everlane. I’m impressed. The quality is great and like you said, the price can’t be beat.

What brand loafer’s do you recommend?
Karima @ A Note On Style
I like Tod’s and Gucci best. They fit me well and are classics.
