I saw a woman last summer wearing delicate nude gladiators and a breezy white dress. It’s a look that stuck with me because she mastered it so well. There was a down to earth polish about her and nothing that hinted at 70’s/bohemian/hippie. She could have easily looked over the top, but didn’t. I should add, she was probably in her late forties.
How did she pull it off so well? Keeping the rest of her look simple was key. Clean, natural hair, barely there jewelry and just a smidgen of makeup.
Wearing a gladiator sandal takes finesse. I think the thinner the straps, the better. They look pretty when they almost disappear, so I prefer nude or pale tones over dark. The rest of the outfit and accessories should be very quiet…let the sandals be the subtle star. That’s how this woman wore them and it was memorable and fantastic.

Unless you have dark skin and then you should where the darker straps, right?

Great point. Yes, I would try and match your skin tone as close as possible.
