Gone are the days when wearing white after Labor Day was considered poor taste. I keep my white jeans and pants in close reach year round. Rather than go for crisp, summer looks though, I try and play off the softness when paired with pale grey or other washed out neutrals. There’s something chic and cozy about the two together. Texture plays a big part too in transitioning summer whites. I look for oversized knits with an exaggerated rib, waffle or cable detail. A pale fisherman sweater, in a not too heavy weight, would have all the right elements I like. I’ll toss these knits over white jeans, but also get longevity out of the white dresses I purchased this summer by mixing them back with knits too. I have a cotton poplin shirt dress that would welcome an oversized sweater with oxfords or sneakers as a perfect summer to fall look.
