I love the pulled together look of a suit. Precision tailoring, quality fabrics, and attention to detail have always been close to my heart. When I see a woman wearing a chic suit, she often exudes purpose, restraint and confidence…qualities I admire. I don’t have the need for suits anymore in my closet and haven’t bought one in years, but if I did, this would be the year to make the investment. Louis Vuitton, Stella McCartney, and Chloé are just a few that offered beautiful suited looks in their Fall ’15 collections. For my casual lifestyle though, I’ll zero in on some of the qualities that draw me to a suit and put them together in a more relaxed way. Taking cues from model Emilie Lilja, above, cuffed tailored trousers with sneakers and a clean, fitted tee are a good place to start. And rather than pair with a traditional jacket, I’ll be on the hunt for pieces with a modern silhouette…perhaps cropped, collarless, boxy, three-quarter sleeves…to keep the look young and fresh.
