These three shoes caught my eye last spring when the Fall 2015 shows were in full swing. I still think they are the most directional must have pieces of the season.
For pure prettiness, the Prada double buckle Mary Jane is at the top of my list. I tried the black and funny enough, it came off as too conservative and safe. The pale grey is now my favorite of the color combinations offered. The Mary Jane has been in several editorials so I’ve seen the endless styling ideas. I think they look super chic with cropped, flared, even printed, pants.
On a more practical note, is Celine‘s glove pump. Everything about it is perfect…a manageable heel height, sumptuous leather and a clean, modern sensibility. It’s everything we expect from Celine.
And Gucci…I know the Gucci fur lined loafer mule is not for everyone, but there’s something about it that keeps growing on me. I love them on others and in editorials but I still have difficulty in picturing them on non-fashion people. Ultimately, I think I just like the traditional Gucci loafer in a mule style. I’m a huge fan of Gucci’s horse bit loafers in general and would be all over this if it weren’t for the kangaroo fur. Still, it’s a shoe that’s getting a lot of attention and is probably the signature piece of Alessandro Michele‘s debut collection for Gucci.
