Isabel Marant SS16 looked right to me. Sometimes, it feels too young, too bohemian, or just off, even though there may be a piece or two I really like. But for spring, I liked the direction the collection took. These were pieces that looked current, interesting and quite wearable. Many times, the looks were transformative based on a single key piece. For example, by simply adding the asymmetric, shiny skirt to pieces I already own, I’d feel completely updated. This skirt would also look amazing when the weather heats up with a loose sleeveless knit or draped blouse or endless other tops. And back to fall/winter…I’d love it with tights and ankle boots. Bottom line…it’s a great skirt.
Again, another interesting skirt that simply defines the outfit. Paired beautifully with a thin knit for a monochromatic look, I’d also mix it with a tank top, a chunky knit or a tailored jacket. It’s also looks like it would pass my packing criteria and make for a good travel item. Another must-have piece I’ll have my eye on for spring.
I’m happy to see slouchy pants sticking around. They are some of my favorite fall purchases so far and literally add so much style to a basic run-around town look with sneakers and a sweater or tee. IM’s pale silk pair, referencing harem pants, have an added sporty factor with the wide rib banded hem and seamed construction. So chic with a baja style pullover trimmed with embroidery and a sparkle of metallic shirting peeking from underneath.

The pale pink with the chunky red sandals is perfection.
