There’s definitely a sense of eclecticism in Stella McCartney’s pre-fall 16 collection with looks from leopard and ocelot driven outfits to tulle layers over beautiful dresses and pants. Individually, there are pieces I love that would work nicely with more classic pieces I already own. The above pant is one. It would add zest to any outfit you would normally grab a tailored black pant for. It hits all the right notes…cropped, swingy and clean. I’m also crazy for the faux-croc, buckled shoes and wish McCartney shoes fit me better but they’re always a little too stiff. Is it the faux leather?
I’m imagining this look without the tulle (if possible) and would love to see just the pant and top worn together as a crisp and modern, matchy pairing. The electric blue floral with a touch of metallic on black is beautiful. As an outfit its stunning, but again as separates, they’re great pieces. Think of the pants with a big slouchy sweater or the top with a micro-pleated skirt or the pants from the first picture.
I think that’s what I love about McCartney’s clothing in general. There are always directional pieces that are wearable, collectable and yet push you just a bit out of your comfort zone.

I think it’s the faux leather – her shoes are not comfortable for me either.
