I recently saw Edie Parker designer, Brett Heyman’s country house in Connecticut on Habitually Chic and fell in love. Of course, the grounds and architecture are gorgeous, but it was the interiors that really got me. Designed by Mark Cunningham, the mix of both high and low pieces lend an eclectic yet classic air to the home. Cunningham’s use of color is striking with unexpected combinations resulting in serene, sophisticated spaces. In the living room, dark sage green walls and matching trim could feel very traditional, but popped with an aqua sofa, the room immediately takes on a more modern tone. In other rooms, contemporary art and one-of-a-kind pieces look comfortable amidst classic architecture. The upholstery fabrics take a backseat to the carefully considered pillows, many with a vintage feel. Cunningham’s sharp eye for successfully incorporating found pieces in a traditional setting result in a collected looking, timeless home, perfect for a relaxed country retreat.

In love with this house. The living room is like being in a Morandi painting…

Gorgeous home!! I love the dark sage throughout the house. I was lucky to work with Mark Cunningham in my early years at Ralph Lauren….he’s such a talent!!! Thank you for sharing these photos.

Does anyone know the color of the Ralph Lauren dark sage in the living room?

I read somewhere that it might be Barbary Fig…but I can’t confirm it’s accurate. Worth taking a look though.
