The rule of not wearing white after Labor Day can go by the wayside if paired with pieces with weight, texture and classic details. Inspired by a photo of Ava Smith in Elle Croatia, I’ll wear my favorite white jeans through fall by pairing them with ribbed knits, colored boots and a pea coat with a nod to nautical classics. Touches of camel and gold add warmth…and a pop of red is always fresh. I won’t be shying away from white shoes and bags either this fall; they’re items that will be readily available with many designers featuring them in their Fall 2016 lineup. But these Chloe boots are the IT item for me this fall. I love the mid calf length and the color is perfection.

Love the boots (and all of it) but they’re all sold out. The short version isn’t the same color is it? Looks more “rust” or “cognac”.

I agree it’s hard to tell. Saks also has the boot but the same situation with limited sizes. They give you the option to be notified if the size you want becomes available. Also, I contacted Nordstrom (because I LOVE this boot) and they said there will be more stock late October.

Could you please explain those boots to me? What’s the allure?

Hi Susan…I’m happy to explain why I love these boots. First, the color is the perfect shade of camel/tan that will look good with everything from white (as shown) to grey, black and denim. I have been looking for a mid-calf boot for awhile to wear under cropped flares. I wanted a pair tall enough to conceal the leg without suffocating up to the knee. The heel height is realistic for comfort and the stacked wood is natural and beautiful, adding a casual but not rugged tone. Lastly, the front seam detail not only adds interest, but breaks up the toe box, which I think is flattering. The seams also lend a vintage quality while still looking very modern. To me, it’s the best boot I’ve seen this fall.

Thank you! It’s really interesting to hear it dissected like that. You’ve convinced me I need a mid calf length boot , and those deserve a second look.
