Any home that looks like it’s nestled in the treetops speaks to me. How gorgeous are the views from this smartly designed home in Australia? Floor to ceiling glass, natural materials, sweeping vistas and overgrown trees certainly add to the interest and beauty of this hilltop home. Architects Ben Vitale and Rachel Stratford of Vitale Design had many obstacles to overcome to create the efficient design. To capture the views while screening the seasonal elements, a sharply angled roof was key. It protects the home from the scorching sumer sun, yet in the winter, lets rays in to warm the home. The neutral color story, inspired from locally quarried stone, simply adds another dimension to the natural beauty of the home. And back to those trees…the view through the treetops from the master bedroom is a showstopper.

The house is so stunning architecturally, but I think the furnishings are a bit blah and not up to the house in quality.

Good point…and absolutely agree. This house is about the architecture and site.
