I am loving the look of velvet this season. The colors are especially rich and lustrous and I’m having no problem buying into the look. I’ll stick to the basics though…anything I can wear with jeans is good for me. Shoes and bags translate beautifully and a structured blazer, in navy, would be very nice.
Early in the season, I picked up a pair of cognac Prada Mary Janes that I think will look chic with all black, or an array of tans and neutrals and of course, denim. I’ve been on the hunt for the elusive green velvet bag, but think I may have found one from local designer Marian Paquette. All the colors of the Liette bag are gorgeous. The perfect navy blazer has yet to be found.

I love velvet (done right) on furniture, but still ambivalent about it for clothing. I did buy a pair of forest green velvet short boots by Penelope Chilvers….hoping to wear soon. Like you, I prefer velvet in green?

Green is my favorite color for velvet. It translates so well and just grabs me for both interiors and dressing. I like deep navy for clothing but to me it feels dressy for interiors. Penelope Chilvers green velvet boots sound like winners!

Karima, did you see The Row ascot bag in moss green velvet? It is lovely, but may not have the functionality you are looking for.

Yes, I actually ordered it and love the color but the single button closure didn’t work for me. It still felt very open and accessible. It’s very pretty though.

Loving all the velvet!!! Let me know when you find the blazer?
