Four simple words sum up my thoughts today…
Thanks – I’m thankful for time spent with family and friends throughout the year. This is the first time celebrating Thanksgiving without my youngest son while he is studying abroad, and although he is missed, I’m grateful for his opportunity to see the world.
Gobble – I love the tradition of everything about the Thanksgiving meal. The planning, the prep, and even the shopping. Although the dishes are the same every year, with everyone having personal favorites, I’m always tweaking the recipes a bit. They always turn out, some years better than others. I’m repeating several today from a cooking class I took last year at Sur La Table.
Give – Volunteering for a cause and scheduling time to be with family and friends, even when things get hectic is rewarding for me. I’ll go one step further and add being present with the person I’m with.
Wish – Although this will sound cliché, I wish for good health and happiness for everyone.
Lastly, I’m thankful to you for taking a moment in your busy lives to stop by everyday and read my blog. I hope you have a beautiful holiday spending time with your loved ones. Happy Thanksgiving!

One of the greatest ways to give is with time.

Happy Thanksgiving, Karima! i’m thankful for you! I love your last statement about time. I’ve asked my kids to give me an “experience” with them for my birthday. Check out this article: http://www.theminimalists.com/experiences/

I love the “experience” gift. I can’t think of anything better that I would personally like to receive..from friends or family. Happy Thanksgiving!
