I’m in awe of the massive redwood tree trunks inside this Aspen home designed by Richard Hallberg. They were salvaged from the embers of a Yosemite fire years ago and now stately frame the entry and living room, setting the tone for the home. The mostly cream color palette throughout allows texture to take center stage with fur upholstery and pillows, rough-hewn wood window frames, fringed linen seam detail and matte reclaimed wood floors. It all adds up to an organic look that is incredibly cozy and sophisticated.
