It’s an understatement to say the stables built for professional polo player Ignacio “Nacho” Figueras’s ponies are exquisite. They’re beyond. The compound lies just outside Buenos Aires with a gallery-like 38,750-square-foot structure housing 44 world-class ponies that seamlessly blends into the landscape. The striking and contemporary design, inspired by a combination of the work of Mies van der Rohe, Luis Barragán and Tadao Ando, serves as an appropriate showcase for Figueras’s prized possessions – the horses – “which can fetch prices similar to Old Master paintings”.
