There are so many elements from this New Jersey yacht club renovation by Lucas Studio’s that I love. For starters, there’s an inviting, relaxed look that feels charmingly residential and inviting. Seating arrangements, in easily movable wicker pieces, allow for a variety of cozy spaces for conversation or drinks. But, I think what grabbed my attention initially was the color palette, classically nautical blue and white, but subdued and presented in a modern way. Soft hues in mahogany and walnut complement brass accents and add warmth. The finished product honors the tradition and history of the 129-year old club with a freshness that’s both functional and beautiful. In addition, all of these features would translate just as well to the home.
