I’ve been all about dresses this summer. It seems that designers are offering more this season in the length I prefer, and often with sleeves. That silhouette may not be for everyone, but as long as it’s available, I’ll be collecting. I’ve picked up some easy to wear styles in a wide range of price points from Zara, Cos, Tibi, Ulla Johnson, and Zimmermann.
No matter short, long, sleeveless, sleeved…my favorite way to currently style them is with a belt at the waist. It can be a casual luggage strap style or a detailed statement piece like Laura Santo Domingo’s heart buckle belt, above. How pretty would the Gucci flower belt from yesterday look with just about any dress? Adding something with polish or pedigree, such as a structured, lady-like bag, is a good idea too. Plus, it removes any Little House on The Prairie feel associated with some of the ditsy florals I’m liking.
