sweater; shirt; jeans; boots; earrings
A few fall pieces I have my eye on…
At the end of last season, during one of my closet cleaning sprees, I got rid of several sweaters that were looking very tired. I’d like to replace some of them with fresh styles that are one step beyond classic.
I immediately fell for Isabel Marant Etoile’s blocked sweater (it also comes in a beautiful khaki). I like the cropped length and shot of red without over commitment to the color. I’d layer it over a poplin or denim shirt with tails out and a pair of faded denim.
My first choice to anchor the look is with The Row’s Farah boot, perhaps my favorite boot of the season. It has all the heft and ruggedness of a combat boot (a favorite style dating all the way back to high school) in a pared back, simple design. This is the first version I’ve seen in rich chocolate-brown, which I may prefer over black.
Often, when I wear something tomboyish like this look, I’ll toss on one thing that is pretty and feminine to contrast, like Celine’s Reef pearl and strass earring. So pretty.
