I thought it would be nice to take a break from the overload of cyber weekend sales and momentarily escape into the beautiful art filled Paris apartment of designer Didier Gomez. With high ceilings and expanses of white wall space, Gomez was able to highlight a striking collection of large abstract paintings collected over the years. The ratio of the scale of the rooms to the furniture and art creates a visual treat popped with both sharp graphics and unexpected bursts of color. Warm wood finishes in the 17th century flat, including a natural oak floor and massive unadorned walnut doors, act as an anchor and provide balance to the sculptural furniture and geometric artwork.
