April always feels like one of those significant transitional months. Winter has officially passed, spring weather is on the horizon, school is almost out and all of a sudden there’s major motivation to shift gears and refresh everything…closet, home, beauty routine. Spring is inevitably one of the busiest times of the year for me, so now is the time to look ahead and get organized with any travel plans and upcoming events.
In a couple of weeks, I’ll be off to NYC for a few days. I’m doing my research now and deciding on an agenda. I’ll leave plenty of free time to roam and meander, but I like to have a few things scheduled. If I’m on my own in the evening, I love going to the theater. When I was in NYC in December, I was able to score a great seat for both Hamilton and Dear Evan Hansen at the last minute. This time I’m considering Come From Away. As far as shopping, The Roman and Williams store is one of a couple of new stops I’ll make. And keeping in line with my spring cleaning mode, I’m ready for an overhaul on my skin care routine. Many of my friends swear by the product recommendations from Cayli Cavaco at Knockout Beauty. I’ve got an appointment set up and look forward to hearing what she suggests for me.
The desire for a serious style refresh hits about now. I haven’t tackled my closet yet, but it is in major need of an edit. I’m not only ready to part with the pieces that are tired, but I’m finally ready to get rid of items that are in good shape but no longer fit my lifestyle. Then, I can fill in with the things I’m currently loving like the Rag & Bone jeans I’ve recently been wearing all the time (see my Road Trip photos). They’re pretty flattering, insanely comfortable with a higher waist and look great with heels or flats. I just ordered a pair in white. I’d also like to update my sneakers with a soft, neutral pair and find a pretty ivory cardigan to wear with jeans.
I love surrounding myself with white in the home and keep referring to this picture I took inside a friend’s house for inspiration. Not only does she have an amazing eye for decor, collecting and styling vignettes, she’s a master at entertaining. I’m hoping to get my shelves as cleaned up and edited as hers. Lastly, I’m currently in the market for new towels and can’t get my mind off of the Turkish Bath Towels from Jenni Kayne. Aren’t they beautiful?

You must visit RW Guild when in NYC. I stopped in with my husband and had a drink and light lunch. Sitting at the cafe allows you to fully take in all the beautiful surroundings. It is magnificent! Enjoy your trip. Also, if you haven’t already, peak inside Le Coucou it’s a short walk away.

I am really looking forward to RW! I’ve heard so many positive accounts like yours and will make the time to sit and enjoy it all. Le Coucou is one of the most beautiful restaurants I’ve dined at in NYC. I stayed at 11 Howard last year and had a delicious brunch at Le Coucou. It is a truly special place. Thank you for your recommendations.
