Perched away from the congestion of the main road in Lake Como, Australian stylist Andrea Duff and her partner Robert Schwamberg renovated a 1910 Liberty-style villa and then filled it with a clean mix of Danish and Italian finds. Duff terms the style “modern vintage” with pieces collected from travels throughout Europe. There’s a black and white story going on which ties it all together, then pops of bold color in art, upholstery and 1970s patterned tiles add an edge and define the style. Tucked into a valley between Lake Como and Lake Lugano, Villa Casasco has the best of both worlds as a quiet retreat surrounded by woodlands with spectacular views yet easy access to the lake.
