Gwyneth Paltrow appears as the quintessential California girl in a story in next weekend’s edition of the WSJ. Magazine. I read the article with interest about her success with goop and respect for someone who pursues a passion, despite naysayers. Unfortunately, the accompanying comments to the story were brutal, and I’m saddened to read such shallow negativity.
I may not agree with all of Paltrow’s philosophies, but I applaud her for introducing non-traditional approaches to healthcare and wellness. I attended the inaugural In Goop Health summit in 2017 and remember her chuckling in opening comments about people thinking she was “bat shit crazy”. Even in the wake of ongoing criticism, she’s driven and continues to open the door to conversations on beauty, health, and wellness that are far from mainstream. Personally, I want to be aware of alternative forms of health care and know I have options.
