A gift card is the perfect last minute gift, but think beyond retail. Consider airlines, hotels, transportation and food delivery services. I know my sons would appreciate a gift card for anything travel related – flights, hotels, or Airbnb. And I’m pretty sure any college age student would love to have a little Uber credit in their account. That goes for food delivery services, like Postmates, too. Concerts are another winner with credit for tickets at Stubhub, Ticketmaster or Vivid Seats. Best of all, stay home, skip the crowds and click away online for a gift they’ll really use.

Ha! I was searching the internet for last minute gifts for a close family member but I already follow you so when A Note On Style’s post came up in my search returns, of course I clicked. Have you heard about InLieu, which launched earlier this year? It lets you make an online donation to any charity without having to submit to the whole fill out the donor recognition form fields and hand out your credit card information to yet another organization that you may not be funding again. I’ve been using it “in lieu” of hostess gifts for dinner parties and at-home entertaining because the whole flowers (that I have to scramble to find a vase for) / wine (that is not to my preference) thing has worn off for me personally so I assume the same is true for some other people.
