Over the years, I’ve moved away from toxic cleaning products and tried a variety of “natural” options for the home. I’m always a bit concerned with how white marble used extensively in my kitchen and every bathroom will respond to any new agent. Is there a favorite product or line that you love? Same for natural, unfinished wood floors like the above. I’d love to hear your tips.

I use Dr Bronner’s Sal Suds for practically everything – to include marble. You can even use it as a vegetable wash. Not sure about using it on unfinished wood floors. Mine are finished and I use it on them.

I don’t know about natural cleaners for countertops but I do have unfinished floors which I wash on my knees and dry as I go. You don’t want to use any products that will penetrate the wood and change the color. I just use warm water and it seems to work fine. I had mine laid eight years ago and they still look great. Well, except for a few dog scratches.

Hello! I have white marble throughout my house. I highly recommend Stone Care International Cleaner. I buy mine through Amazon. It has a nice smell as well. I hope this helps you. Looking forward to hearing what other’s recommend! Would love advice for dog hair!

I remodeled our kitchen last summer, and put in Calacatta counters. The fabricator told me to use only dish soap on them. I went and bought a new spray bottle and added a little dish soap (Mrs. Meyers) and water, shake it to combine. You just spray on and wipe with a clean rag.

I love Branch Basics. I have the same unfinished wood floors and clean with a damp mop and spray solution mix they have for wood floors.

I started following Cleanmama.net. She uses all natural cleaning products and has a great “plan” for tackling the home keeping rituals.
Cheers!

I use mrs. meyers dish soap on my white calacutta along with Mr. Clean Magic sponge erasers. On floors I use Bona.

Method brand granite cleaner. I use it on my marble and it works great. My pilates teacher turned me on to it. She only uses non toxic products in her studio.

I have used blue Dawn dish soap and white vinegar for just about all my cleaning. The Dawn cuts grease, works great to wash windows, shower doors, bath tubs, etc. and is safe and non-toxic. I put the white vinegar in a spray bottle and wipe down surfaces. Both are cheap and environmentally safe. I’ve used Murphy’s oil soap (diluted) in a spray bottle and a terry cloth mop on unfinished wood floors without issue.

Cleanmama.com. She has the most simple DIY recipes for everything and they work! I stopped buying commercially made cleaners two years ago and don’t miss any of them. I stock the the few ingredients needed: alcohol, vinegar, castille soap and essential oils and I can whip up a batch in seconds as needed. I have Carrara marble in my kitchen and bathrooms and her recipes work great. Note: never use vinegar on marble!
For dog hair and vacuuming in general: the Dyson V11 cordless is a game changer. Truly. I just gave away my corded Miele.
PS. Mrs. Myers and Method are not quite as “clean” as people think. Read some findings:

You may have already discovered the benefits of using vinegar to clean kitchen counters and bathrooms, but did you know that it can also cut through the grime that builds up on your wood floors? Just two ingredients, warm water and vinegar, give you everything you need to clean and shine your floors.
