I’ve lost track of how many weeks California has been under the stay-at-home mandate with the closure of all non-essential businesses. But it’s very clear based on the condition of my hair that a salon visit is long past due. Greys have sprouted up and no amount of conditioning seems to bring back the shine. For the most part, I’ve given up heat styling in an attempt to unnecessarily impart damage. And, air-dried hair is a styling art in itself that I definitely haven’t mastered.
Like many, I’ve been catching up with friends and family online with Zoom or Facetime. I’m not going all out to make myself presentable, but I am making the effort to do something with my hair other than wear a baseball cap or beanie. A ponytail has always been my go-to, but I’m getting bored with that. So, I’m exploring barrettes and headbands as fresh options.
Regarding the greys, my hairdresser is kindly mixing my color for me as a DIY at-home project. I’ll do a drive-by-pick-up later this week and keep my fingers crossed it’s not a disaster.

Thank you for the grey hair tip! I reached out to my stylist and she’s doing a color kit drop for me. Stay safe and well.
Warm regards,

You’re welcome! Here’s hoping it goes smoothly.

While I don’t color my hair, I am in need of a cut and a straightening treatment. I am playing with my scarves to see if that may be hair solution during this time. If I can just get over feeling like I look like a pirate, it just may work.

I was thinking about scarves too. I would love to add a little color!
