Here we are mid-summer and it almost feels like a typical August with lazy days at home, dining al fresco, and slipping into easy dresses. I’ve been shopping my closet trading jeans for dresses and wearing them casually with flat sandals. Even some of the dresses I wouldn’t usually consider for day are having a moment paired with simple TKEES flip flops.
Spending more time in the kitchen lately motivated me to experiment with new recipes. I’ve been sticking with Pamela Salzman’s Quicker Than Quick cookbook with excellent results. The Chinese-Style Sautéed Green Beans and Nut-Butter Balls have been big hits! Friends had us over for dinner last week and served Salzman’s Mediterranean Fish in Parchment (recipe online). Amazing and worth repeating.

Also in the kitchen, I’m loving the Trove collection at Crate and Barrel inspired by modern Danish design. These simple chambray linens in a beautiful pale teal are on their way to my home now. See below for more stylish items from the new release.
After I saw this recently listed Richard Neutra house in LA, I went down a rabbit hole on Pinterest pinning away homes and interiors designed and influenced by the iconic modernist architect. I’ll never tire imagining life inside the Kaufmann House or any other of his signature light-filled residences. Enjoy more on Pinterest here and books on Modernist Architecture below.
With minimal activity outside the home, we’re caught up on most of our favorite cable series. We’re halfway through Season 6 of Bosch and when done won’t have much left on our watch list. Recommendations welcome!
