It’s hard to plan anything right now, but I’m still dreaming about a possible quick getaway. For a number of reasons, I haven’t strayed far from home this summer, even briefly. But I hope that will change in the next month or two so I’m doing research on where to go within driving distance. I’ve always loved road trips. Distancing myself from urban areas is the goal where wide-open spaces feel more appealing than ever. There are a couple U.S. destinations in this Financial Times How To Spend It story and plenty more to inspire, like the Dolomites above, for traveling farther in the future.
Circling back to my Brow Wow post, one of the products readers recommended was Tom Ford’s Fiber Brow Gel. It’s finally back in stock and two shades, chestnut and granite, are headed my way.
With jeans still on pause, I’ve enjoyed rotating between loose dresses and shorts. Personally, for running around town, I like shorts with a high waist and some sort of nod to tailored details. Hannah Crosskey brought my attention to this simple pair. Worn with a sandal and a slim tank mimics the casual, effortless look I’m after these days.
I read that jewelry sales have been on the rise during COVID. Investing in items with staying power well beyond the next season has always been my MO, but with little interest in spending on fashion right now, buying jewelry that’s wearable now and later makes perfect sense.

Happy holidays! Nothing like a road trip, you don’t even need to go very far to have fun! Escaping the urban space is so refreshing.
I love tailored shorts, simple top and slides for hot days in the city when not in the corporate office.
The Dolomites are stunning, a long time ago skied there but apparently beautiful in all seasons. Love Italy, an insta post of ringing church bells in Italy nearly brought me to tears, it will be a long time before a trip to Italy is a possibility.
