I had good intentions to re-do the work space in my home last year. But as distractions piled up, so did the fabric samples and tear sheets filled with inspiration. Good or bad, the wait has given me time to more finely evaluate what I want. Comfort is always key but that takes shape in many forms and is different for everyone. I like to be surrounded by warm lighting, soothing pale colors, and a setting that’s clean but reflective of my love for antiques, artwork and mementos from travel. As much as I appreciate spare interiors, I need cozy.
The room I currently work in has not been updated for ten years and was designed when my sons were still in high school. It became the spillover (temporary dumping) room for their accumulation of goods when they moved between dorms and apartments throughout their college years. Now that they’re both living in L.A., I feel like I can call the space my own.
Below is the start of my moodboard plus I’m referencing this post for accessories:
Joelle Somero artwork, Benjamin Moore Edgecomb Gray paint, Textured ivory boucle, Lee Jofa Windowpane Plaid, Linen Boucle Pillow, Vintage Giacometti style Bronze lamp

Thanks for an inspiring interior decor post! As much as we all love fashion, it’s hard to feel enthusiasm for what we’re wearing to the market or to walk our dogs.

I hear you!
