Huaraches were a familiar part of my summer wardrobe growing up. The easy to slip on sandal was the epitome of carefree effortless style. The woven brown leather only got better with age and looked fabulous with a tan leg. The good old days.
In a story in Self Service Magazine, the featured shoe (model’s own) is that very same humble huarache. I love how it anchors these looks. Poking around a few retail sites, I found several designer’s interpretations – but there’s something about the original that feels just right.

Loved my huaraches back in the day. So comfortable and great with a tan!

Reminds me of Slim Keith….so timely! I have a pair that I almost wore out last year…

I was just thinking to myself they are making a comeback! I have seen several non-designer pairs while visiting Santa Barbara in the last few days. It may have been at the Shopkeeper.
