I was thinking about how I could change things up a little in my wardrobe without stepping too far out of my comfort zone. Adding unique pieces that stand on their own with strong color or detail would be my first move. Sticking with shades of blue and emerald green, the above items have details that elevate them above the norm and are wearable numerous ways. They add just enough edge to be the finishing touch on a more pulled together, clean look.
TIBI navy trapeze dress : I usually steer towards solids, but the gorgeous oversize pattern on the Tibi dress is special. With a slight sheen, it’s one of those dresses that satisfies the day to evening metric that I always find my self testing. Flats or heels…both work.
TIBI green leather front tank: The shade of green is unexpected in leather and the top is simple and clean. With jeans, skirts, skinny or full pants, it would get lots of wear and is so much fresher than black.
J. CREW Collection raffia tank : Just a basic tank made special with raffia fringe stripes in navy and black. Love it with white denim or black cropped full pants. Could even work layered as a vest in the fall.
MARNI applique bag: Clusters of flowers on one side, cognac leather on the back make this a versatile clutch suitable for both casual and more formal occasions. Plus, the iridescent flowers are just so pretty.
ILEANA MAKRI earrings: I’m never one to shy away from investing in classic jewelry, but it’s nice to add an element of surprise to the predictable diamond hoops. Pavé tsavorite and oxidized pink gold…stunning.
SAINT LAURENT green bag: Why not try a classic in a bold color? I’ve pinned so many looks I love where the outfit is a solid neutral and the bag or shoes are a pop of unexpected color. It always looks chic and I have to remind myself of that when I reach for another black or tan bag.
PROENZA SCOULER green sandals: What a beautiful combination of colors and textures. Emerald green python, black suede fringe and a slice of silver tone metal add to the allure of these mules with a perfect heel height. They would finish off an outfit nicely.
BALENCIAGA blue wedge mules: What’s not to like? A wear with anything blue in a sleek mule accented with a row of signature studs. My favorite color for shoes this season and they haven’t been easy to find.
