I am beyond thrilled the Jenni Kayne store has found a home in Newport Beach. It’s a perfect fit. The location couldn’t be better either situated in the charming atmosphere of the newly redeveloped Lido Marina Village. Steps from the waterfront, the light filled space is a breath of fresh air.
Bright white walls serve as a backdrop for the pared back, simple designs of the Jenni Kayne collection. These are relaxed separates at their best. Subtle twists put a modern spin on everyday classics, either through cut, fabric or quiet details. Cashmere sweaters, soft shirting, Breton inspired stripes and lace trimmed silk tops can be worn numerous ways but look best when they find their way back to denim. It’s this effortless, yet pulled together look that I love about Jenni Kayne’s pieces, a signature California look.
But, there’s more. Sprinkled throughout are pieces from other highly curated designers. Sterling silver jewelry from Sophie Buhai, hand-woven pillows and throws from Homelosophy, candles from Cire Trudon and shoes ranging from Gravita Italian loafers to Birkenstock shearling sandals complement each other setting the luxuriously relaxed mood.
The first thing I zeroed in on was a fully set table with hand thrown ceramics from Irving Place Studio and Farmhouse Pottery mixed with vintage Scandinavian inspired Canvas flatware. I’d like it all. Organic yet polished and stunning. Seasonal flowers and pomegranates on branches completed an inspiring fall tabletop I’ll mimic this season. So simple yet so pretty.
It’s hard to ignore the punctuation of MQuan hanging bells on the spare walls which are both sculptural and functional. A small group hanging from a tree in the garden would make a special setting. They’re also artistically displayed throughout the store resting on pale wood tabletops and occasionally contrasting with sleek hand blown glass vases and bowls in smokey hues from Siemon & Salazar.
I’m leaving out a host of other goodies from other designers, but it’s clear they’ve all been hand-picked to fit with the Jenni Kayne aesthetic. Which also happens to fit with the Newport Beach aesthetic that I love…casual luxe at its best.

One of my favorite all time stores for everything. I live near the one in the Brentwood Country Mart and it’s dangerous!!! I never leave empty-handed, including today. But, I’ve never regretted a purchase from there and wear everything I’ve ever bought, and my everyday dishes and flatware are from there as well. Perfection!

Yes, I can see shopping there becoming a dangerous habit. I’m already thinking about the things I didn’t get. I love all the pieces for the home. Your table must be beautiful!
