My husband and I have become completely devoted to British television. We’ve watched all the highly recommended shows and then some. We love the authentic casting of characters and the way the storylines slowly develop and play out. The scenery transports us to not so familiar places that we find interesting, and the sets appear genuine and not tightly framed.
We’re looking forward to new seasons and several new series coming out this year. Vogue UK has a piece in the May issue, Screen Shots, highlighting all the latest and greatest in the works. Starting with Michelle Dockery in Godless, a western set in New Mexico, (Netflix) these are the handful that look intriguing. Now, we just need to figure out how to stream some of these various channels.

We’re the same. Highly recommend Grantchester, Poldark, Broadchurch, and The Fall – if you haven’t seen them. We also loved an Australian series called A Place to Call Home – a bit soap opera-ish but very good and addictive. Looking forward to The White Princess beginning.

We’ve seen and loved the British shows you mention, but have not heard of A Place to Call Home. Thanks for recommending.
