Designer Jenni Kayne‘s Lake Tahoe home looks like the perfect spot to escape and kick back. A native Angeleno, whose home I profiled here, Kayne spent summers as a child at her family’s home in Lake Tahoe. The property was sold over 10 years ago when everyone’s life got busy and it wasn’t being used. Longing for a place to relive her memories with her husband and children, she looked for a house in the same area to rent. Instead, she found her childhood family home on the market and with her sister purchased it.
The house was in need of renovations so Kayne brought the home up to speed. The kitchen was expanded and opened up to look into the living and dining area and all six bedrooms and five baths were remodeled. The decor was kept clean and minimal yet cozy and comfortable. A mix of Swedish antiques, Belgian linens and Americana create a unique and homey atmosphere. Collected photography brings a touch of nature indoors.
Memories of walking the shore, boat rides and collecting sea glass are traditions Kayne hopes to continue with her own kids and extended family.

I’m headed to Lake Tahoe in October. Haven’t been in over 20 years. This post has me even more excited.
