Along with jeans, another staple in my wardrobe is a black blazer. When I toss on a beautifully tailored blazer, I feel pulled together and polished. It’s one of those game-changer items that quickly transform an outfit and I often pair it back to denim. Wearing contrasting elements, be it high/low or dressy/casual, is a formula that works for me. Starting with a pair of great jeans or a chic black blazer makes the process incredibly easy.
For today’s look, I’m taking the worn-in, casual vibe of faded denim and styling it with a sharply structured Balmain blazer. Padded shoulders and a darted waist are hallmarks of a Balmain blazer which never seem to fade in popularity. The signature double-breasted cut is a buy once wear forever investment piece. The trim silhouette defined by perfectly placed brass buttons is a Balmain signature style repeated every season for good reason.
A leather strapped gold watch and a polished calfskin bag are additional iconic pieces I’d throw in the mix. Dior’s Bobby bag is a current favorite. It works well for day to night looks and can be worn crossbody or as a shoulder bag. Accessorizing with a variety of straps increases its versatility. I’m contemplating one in black or white.
I’ll wear sandals as long as the weather allows and love the elegance of the dainty mid-heel on the above Louboutin style. Pale pink polished nails are chic year-round and Chanel’s Ballerina, a favorite, is a beautiful shade. Another favorite is Westman Atelier’s Vital Skin Foundation stick. I’ve been using it since its introduction and can’t imagine switching to another brand. I combine a few different shades depending on the season and it consistently works for me!
