A few weeks ago I posted a photo on Instagram of a polka dot dress I wore while in Dallas. The dress is from Rixo circa 2018. On the left, I wore it on a cruise, and throughout the years it has made appearances on other trips and at home. The longevity of the dress lies in its obscurity, comfort and ease to style. I’ve made it dressier with heels and pearls or super casual with flat sandals and a denim jacket.
I’m practicing what I preach and shopping my closet first before I consider my next buy. A few years ago, it would have bothered me to wear something, especially a recognizable print, over and over but my perspective has changed. I’m not only good with repeat, I give my self a pat on the back for being resourceful.
It got me thinking about what the next contenders would look like…dresses with timeless appeal and variety in styling. I have a few favorites and already bought one of them below. Which do you like?
Golden Goose, here and here
Isabel Marant and here
Lafayette 148 and here

Karima, just an FYI, the links to the Lafayette 148 dress seem to take me back to the Isabel Marant dress. I think my personal favorites are the Toteme, Paco Rabanne and the Dries dresses. Any of those could hit the spot in so many situations.
Karima
Thank you for the link problem…fixed! The Toteme dress is on its way to me now for a try on. I hope it fits well!

You look so beautiful and content.
Karima
Thank you :)

Karima
Same!
Sheri Drobnick
Totem and Paco Rabanne! Always love long!
Karima
I remember!
Susan
Love the Totem dress also. Will you have it hemmed?
Karima
Probably not. I like it long.
Wanda
I’m sure you would look wonderful in all of them.
My vote for ones that would be timeless would be, Toteme, Reformation, and the Dries Van Noten .
