Anchoring everything with a pair of jeans, I’m looking at ways to keep that look fresh. Starting with denim, relaxed is the way to go. I like long styles that break at the shoe. I’ll wear them with flats mostly – sneakers, boots, loafers, and Mary Janes are my go-to, but I’m pretty smitten with Gabriela Hearst’s Mary Jane Brogue. It’s a must for an updated look.
Next are the toppers. A cozy teddy coat is a timeless investment piece that goes with everything. For less chilly needs, a cropped double face wool number works beautifully. Lou Lou Studio offers a great option in ivory.
Sweaters are next. I’m loving pieces that are uniquely embellished like Jason Wu’s short sleeve knit with a cluster of beading at the neckline. A great addition to my wardrobe to wear with jeans, leather pants or any number of black bottoms. The striped sweater from Veronica Beard is a great piece too. Love the brown and white combo and would wear through spring with white jeans.
Little extras to elevate any look include an ivory bag, Loewe’ s Flamenco pouch continues to be a favorite. A slim belt and beautiful understated gold jewelry add a polished finish.
