Little tweaks, to what I consider essentials, make all the difference in the world in giving a wardrobe a seasonal boost. Those essentials for me are my everyday run-around gear consisting of jeans, comfortable shoes, simple tops and a not too precious bag that’s easy to wear all day long.
The cropped flare is my favorite silhouette right now in jeans. I’ll be adding a pair in black, and maybe a color, to round out my denim options. They modernize the simplest looks and are so easy to pair with just about any shoe. As far as shoes, I’m always interested in new run-around worthy styles because I know I’ll wear them to death. I’ve had my eyes on clogs the last few seasons, but none really grabbed me. Thats changed with the suede Gucci in taupe. The heel height is perfect for everyday errands and they’ll up the style factor to most fall looks. As far as tops, I’m looking for a couple of turtlenecks. Slim fitted, but not tight, and preferably ribbed, its the essential knit for fall. With a hint of 70’s influence, it plays well with flared pants, a-line skirts and layered under dresses. A beauty in cashmere would cover the ground for day and night dressing. I’ll look for a lighter weight option too. Lastly, bags…I’ve been looking for a soft variation on the hobo/bucket bag for awhile in a neutral. I’m considering Fendi’s Anna Seller. The raw edge detail and exaggerated stitches are exceptional details and make this bag a year round classic.

Oh my goodness! Are clogs really making a comeback? I remember having a pair in dark blue suede. I guess I should have held on to those!
