For the final outfit in my week of denim series, I thought I’d dress it up a bit. A tailored velvet blazer is high on my shopping list and would be the perfect topper to not only casual jeans but trousers, dresses, etc. I wouldn’t want to clutter it up so a simple camisole makes the perfect underpinning. I don’t wear high heels too often, but when I do, I need structure for comfort. I’ve been eyeing these elegant slingback pumps with a feminine little tie front from The Row. The suede would be a nice counterpoint to velvet. Injecting a dose of color pulls it all together, makes it interesting and takes it up a notch from predictable to stunning. I’d start with a luxe crocodile bag in emerald green from Reyna Icaza and play off that vibrant shade with a special piece of jewelry.
I love the various textures – from the soft sheen of velvet and the shine of crocodile to the matte depth of suede – and how they individually showcase the unique qualities of each piece. The best part is everything has versatility to work a million ways with other things in my closet.
I’d keep the beauty routine simple and add a nude, shimmering gloss with a delicately touch of eyeliner. My current favorite for both these items is from Le Métier de Beauté.
