Traveling last week on a road trip through Washington and Oregon left me with just two days to get ready for Thanksgiving. I was tempted to order the meal and skip cooking entirely, but shifted gears and hit the ground running swooping through my favorite markets (I have several!).
We’re a small group this Thanksgiving, so I streamlined the menu with recipes from Pamela Salzman, Ina Garten and my friend Angela (@angelastable) who effortlessly whips up the most amazing dishes. New this year, I’m asking each of my boys (young men) to prepare one of the side dishes.
I’m keeping the table decor very simple with flowers from Trader Joes and greenery from my backyard. Napkins tied with leather string and acorns sprinkled on the tablecloth are quietly festive. Lots of white candles and I’m done.
Wishing you all a happy, healthy and restful Thanksgiving shared with family and loved ones!

Love this! No barrage of Black Friday/Cyber Monday Sale links, just some lovely thoughts. I’m going to borrow your “sides” idea for next year, though my oldest totally “manned” the turkey detail and did a boffo job. Happy Thanksgiving!
