A FEW NEW CLOSET ADDITIONS

I’ve been talking about adding color to my closet this season and found a couple pieces that will do the trick. A lightweight cotton shirt from Isabel Marant Etoile has become a new favorite. The color and print options are unique enough to look special with minimal styling restrictions. With California’s warm autumn weather, come September, I’m on the hunt for transitional pieces that will stand up to the heat but still provide a seasonal refresh. Combining an almost sheer voile fabric with a dark print or directional color answers the call. Available in prints (love the dark green floral) and solids (rosewood is very pretty), I selected a couple that work with most of the bottoms in my closet. Some of the prints have matching skirts, which I would have purchased if they were longer.

My white sneakers need updating so I’m turning to Hogan – my go-to for comfort and inconspicuous style. The brand isn’t overly saturated in the market but I can always find a good assortment on Mytheresa. I chose the Interactive style with a made-for-walking ergonomic sole. Printed logo laces are interchangeable for solid white. This retro inspired style is good too. Also from Hogan is a Chelsea boot which is almost identical to the boots I often wear while traveling. I always get asked about similar options since mine are from previous seasons.

The look of non-traditional pearls continues to appeal to me. A black knotted choker from Sophie Buhai adds a modern perspective and is a fresh option to the classic strand. The necklace layers well with other pieces but looks simple and beautiful on its own. I like to wear it with some of my fine jewelry to tone down the look and add a relaxed vibe. This smaller version and a mixed pearl combination are also nice. I’m also obsessed with a knotted jade strand from Sophie Buhai.
