I have several skirts which are rarely worn for lack of the right top. A voluminous bottom calls for balance via a trim shaped topper and I’ve never found one I liked. One of my favorite silhouettes is an iconic Alexander McQueen look with a full skirt paired with a slim top. I questioned myself on why I never simply went to the source for the top and get the look I was after. Enter Alexander McQueen knit(s) to my wardrobe. It started with the off-shoulder style above, that looks great not only with voluminous skirts, but also high waisted trousers. Having the option to wear untucked is a plus made possible by the shorter (but not cropped) length.
This purchase sent me down the Alexander McQueen rabbit hole of knit tops. Along with the off-shoulder style, I found a twisted v-neck long sleeve, and a perfectly cropped cashmere crew that falls at a flattering spot. All are perfect for skirts, trousers, jeans…actually any bottom that fits high on the waist.

Hi Karima!
Though a small amount, the Alexander McQueen top has polyester in it. I’m wondering what your thoughts are on high end brands using polyester in their clothing.
Thanks!
Karima
I’m not opposed to polyester in small quantities. Because it is occasionally used among luxe brands, it’s hard to avoid completely.

I have some Max Mara pants of poly blended with other fibers (wool often) and they are beautiful fabrics. So I’m open about that.
