ANATOMY OF A SCANDAL – SOPHIE’S WARDROBE

ANATOMY OF A SCANDAL – SOPHIE’S WARDROBE

Have you watched Anatomy of a Scandal yet? I was glued to Sophie’s flawless wardrobe, played by Sienna Miller, and the interior design of her London home. One of my favorite looks was an understated yet striking evening ensemble comprised of an ivory dress from The Row accented with gold accessories. Topped with a Max Mara camel hair coat and a swipe of red lipstick, the whole look was stunning. I’m saving this as inspiration for my next what to wear evening outing.

Other equally fabulous outfits rotate throughout the series with the theme of disciplined, no logo, luxury style. Midi silk dresses tied at the neck, long coats, turtlenecks and plush knitwear were the standouts. According to costume designer Sam Perry, the moodboard for Sophie’s wardrobe included ‘Lots of elegant tailoring, nothing too tight, nothing too overtly sexual. Really classic, dignified but with a fashion forward look’.

I loved her wardrobe and the interiors in the show! Everything was classic, elegant and timeless! So perfect!

I believe the dress to which you refer is The Row’s Larina dress. I have it in black, and it is and has been for a few years, a go to for me. Always loved the off white, but was too afraid of red wine spills to make the purchase.

Thank you for the correction. The Row style dress is Larina.

While I don’t watch the show, I’m really glad to see Max Mara get some attention. I’ve been a fan for a while. The quality and attention to detail in their clothing is impeccable. The other day I was wearing my favorite pair of MM camel hair trousers that has a tonal leather “tuxedo” stripe down the side. So comfy they’re like PJ’s.
