I’m always keeping an eye on Khaite. The collection may appear unapproachable at first look but there are details that make their way to the surface that inevitably get in my head and then my wardrobe. Take the Fall 2024 collection. A pseudo barn/field jacket silhouette with exaggerated patch pockets repeatedly appeared in various fabrications and is now keenly on my radar. I’ll opt for one in a fabric or leather. No need for fur on my end. Toss it on over any old thing, and the outfit becomes modern. Even better, pair it with something unexpected, like a dress and you’ve got a look. Next up is crushed satin. In several other collections currently, the fabric is not so much new as it is fresh. I’m especially fond of it as a turtleneck, although skirts are good (and easy) too. And since I could wear black and white forever, I’m always studying ways to style the combo in contemporary, elevated ways. Khaite continues to inspire on all of these fronts.
