SUMMER LOVE

SUMMER LOVE

Little tweaks to my wardrobe for summer include white drawstring pants (or any color), bold frames, interesting tops and wearable heels (will go far beyond the season). The why behind these picks…an exposed drawstring on pants and skirts feels updated (thanks to Miu Miu) and gives a relaxed spin to the classic. Phoebe Philo’s angular sunglasses are the epitome of chic and add a serious dose of style to any look. Looking past my tried and true tees and shirts, I’m most interested in adding unique tops to my wardrobe. The By Malene Birger piece is gorgeous and has a matching skirt. Most crochet pieces don’t appeal to me, but this one feels a bit more sophisticated and artisanal than hippie. It would would transition nicely into fall. Lastly, mid-heeled sandals are always on my radar. Since I know the height (under 3″) and shape (must have a strap) that works for me, when I see a winner I pounce. For those who shy away from heels, I suggest you try a style with a low strap (not ankle) and a cushioned insole. The pair from Gabriela Hearst gets bonus points for it’s crafty heel silhouette. There is also a 1.4 inch kitten heel. More colors please!
