COS leather top, AGMES earrings, KHAITE bag, JW Anderson loafers
I’m currently focused on pieces that have a sense of newness to them without being too on trend. They follow themes that will mix well with my closet of tried and true classics in a palette of black and white. I’ve collected these classics for years and rely on them as the core of my wardrobe, but without injecting a bit of personality to the styling, looks can fall flat. Enter four pieces to layer in for a variety of scenarios that will prevent that outcome.
Leather – the silhouettes look fresher than ever this season. From boxy tops to slim maxi skirts, there’s a style to suit everyone’s taste. Personally, I’m here for the skirt. It has a high wearability quotient for the warmer climate in California. I’ll wear with a t-shirt and bare sandals or COS thin layered knits now then add an oversized blazer or field jacket later when it cools. For chilly days, I’ll toss on an oversized sweater. For a look that’s slightly more forward, I’d purchase a leather boxy top or long shorts (more interesting than a knee length skirt).
St. Agni black skirt (also here), Nour Hammour brown skirt, Frankie Shop black skirt
A.L.C. has a well priced option in burgundy or black and CO has a short wrap style that is super chic in chocolate brown or ocre.
Tasseled Loafers – exaggerated, oversized, intentional tassels. They’ll flop around a bit and make a statement and I love them. I saw several in Italy this summer worn with ordinary outfits that were gifted with flair from a tasseled loafer. Two on their way to me now are from JW Anderson and a style from the Grenson x Emilia Wickstead collaboration (above). Also available here. I ordered in brown. Fingers crossed they’re comfortable.
Snake Pattern Accessories – I think KHAITE leads in this category as far as assortment of items and setting the look into motion. I mentioned on Instagram how the KHAITE bag makes every outfit look modern. I’m sure there are lots of less expensive options (or there will be soon) to test drive or not make an investment in the trend. For me, sandals and belts are also good contenders. I prefer a shot of the print in small doses.

AGMES Elsa Earrings More AGMES pieces available on NET-A-PORTER, Moda Operandi, and FWRD
Cool, Sculptural Jewelry – pieces that have an artistic quality to them are on my radar. This started with the attraction to a simple cuff and large earrings last year and has morphed into a category of jewelry that feels gallery worthy. AGMES and LIÉ STUDIO have several pieces that are perfection to my eye. With the combination of sculptural metal and an organic baroque pearl drop, the Elsa earrings above are incredibly striking.
