This is the old denim shirt I talked about yesterday. From the Gap, must be ten-plus years old. It’s a keeper and just gets better with age. Today, I’m styling it with another classic – Levi’s 501 jeans. The washes don’t match and that’s fine. I think they complement each other in vibe. From this point as a base, the styling options are many. Paired with yet another classic – Chanel ballet flats – the look is slightly elevated. I wore this to dinner the other night with a black blazer. The whole outfit felt very good on. Very much my personal style.
Levi’s 501 jeans. Very similar silhouettes from AGOLDE, AGOLDE, Frame, and Citizens of Humanity. Similar denim shirts here, here and here.
On another day recently, I wore the combo with a suede espadrille I picked up this summer traveling. The look is easy to recreate with a number of boat shoes that have flooded the market. As much as I gravitate towards the classics in most categories, I’ve steered clear of the preppy originals. Today’s boat shoes look best with a twist.
As mentioned yesterday, not all denim + denim looks were a success. I didn’t love the pairing of two starkly different washes. It would probably work if it were reversed with dark jeans and a lighter top.

I love the denim on denim look, especially when paired with two different washes. I can never find a pair of 501 Levi’s that flatter my figure. I find the leg openings awkward. Do you get yours tailored? I love the narrow cut of this pair?

Not everyone can wear the same style, brand, etc. of jeans. It’s a personal preference based on fit that is why I linked to a few other brands where I think they have a similar style. It’s worth trying on several until you find the ones that work for you.
I do not get these tailored but I have before with other brands for the most flattering length.
