Items Worth Considering…a round-up of pieces that’ve caught my eye and ways to wear them.
I like to get mileage out of the things in my closet, so I consider the wearability options on something before I purchase …especially the big ticket items.
I can think of few things that don’t translate well with denim, so that’s usually the easiest one to match up. This season, the denim pieces I’m gravitating towards are clean, straight and classic. Raw denim is big and I love the look, but I don’t think I have the patience to wear them in like I did in my youth. They’re the perfect shade of indigo though, like these from A.P.C.
I’ve mentioned white sweaters are key for the season, and this super basic cashmere turtleneck from EQUIPMENT is perfect. A natural with jeans, but I’m going for the sweater/skirt combo to freshen things up.
The skirt…I love the options that are out there right now. You take your pick…short or long or both! Flats, heels, boots, sneakers…they all work when balanced properly. The velvet faille on this one from CARVEN is a keeper because of its ability to dress up or down.
Loafers are here to stay. We will see them going into spring worn with cropped pants and dresses. Some are classic, some are platforms. I like both. I have two pair of TOD’S loafers, one in black and one in distressed grey, and they are the most comfortable loafers I’ve ever purchased. I’m considering the tasseled pair in burgundy to throw in the mix.
I loved these ROCHAS pumps the minute I saw them. The oversize tassel makes them unique and the thin little ankle strap keeps them pretty and feminine. I only wish the heel wasn’t so high…even for a platform.
I’ve been back and forth on bags this season…a tote or a hobo? Then there’s this classic, nondescript two-tone beauty from MARNI. It might be the one.
